Pete Buttigieg will be spending 12 days on duty with the Navy starting Monday.
Mayor
Buttigieg is in the Navy Reserve. As part of his service, he spends one weekend
a month on duty and one 12 day period on duty once a year.
The mayor's
office says he'll be serving at Fort
Sheridan, Illinois
until June 15.
During
his duty, his office says the Mayor will be in frequent contact with his office
and city officials. He'll also appoint his Chief of Staff, Mike Schmuhl, to
have signing authority during his absence.
