The St Joe baseball team battled in the District 2 Regional semi-final against top ranked Gull Lake, but prevailed 6-5 in 8 innings.
The Bears advanced to take on Coldwater in the championship. The Cardinals were coming off a 6-5 win over South Haven in extra innings, after being down 5-0 in the 7th.
St Joe jumped out to an early lead when Riley Johnson launched a solo homerun in the 2nd to get the scoring started. The Bears went on to win 14-1 to win the Regional Championship.
St Joe will play Chelsea at 1pm Tuesday in the Quarter-finals. The game will be played at the University of Michigan.
