Buchanan's softball team won the Region title today. The Bucks beat Watervliet 8-4 in the semis and topped Bronson 5-4 for the championship. They will play Springport in the quarter-finals Tuesday at Michigan State University.
In the District 2 Regional semi-final at Edwardsburg, Coloma started the day with a 3-to-2 win in 8 innings over the host Eddies.
In the other semi-final, Lakeshore dominated Gull Lake scoring 3 runs in the first inning en route to a 4-0 win.
In the championship, it was a pitchers duel between Coloma and #1 Lakeshore. But in the 4th Kristin Potter hit an RBI single, scoring the only run of the game. Coloma took down the defending state champs 1-0 to win the Regional title.
Coloma will play in the Quarter-finals Tuesday at 3pm at the University of Michigan.
