Melanie Yuill joined the Fox 28 News team in December of 2011. She is enthusiastic about returning to and working in the Midwest along with getting to take advantage of a more moderate climate again.
Melanie was previously a multimedia journalist for KXLF in Montana. Working in Big Sky country she covered everything from fires and plane crashes to cattle branding and moose on the loose. Melanie also learned to ski during her time in Montana and did it all in front of the news cameras.
Melanie graduated from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at The University of Maryland with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in World Religions. While at Maryland, she worked as a reporter on the student run newscast, Capital News Service covering events around Washington, D. C. She also served as a news intern for FOX 45 in Baltimore and spent a semester abroad studying media and global change in Austria.
Although she calls Philadelphia, PA home, she spent time growing up near both Chicago and Detroit. Indiana is the 8th state that Melanie has had the opportunity to live in. The others include Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Montana. She is thrilled to be in Michiana and to have the opportunity to explore the area and get to know its people.
