The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians is moving forward with its plans to put in a Four Winds Casino in Dowagiac. All this is following Wednesday evenings vote by the Pokagon Township Board to move forward with the plans.
The city is buzzing about the project. Especially in the Bakeman Barbershop. Owner Pat Bakeman has been hearing that buzz from many of his customers.
"It's kind of like the field of dreams. If you build it, they will come. Dowagiac is finally going to benefit and we're going to be able to improve the infrastructure around here and that's going to be good and it'll probably be good for the schools too." Bakeman said.
Construction for the casino is expected to start in the next few months, with the completion by 2013.
