The Elkhart County
Prosecutor's Office says one person is in jail and more than 120 pounds of pot is
off the street after an arrest Tuesday.
Officers with the Elkhart
County Interdiction & Covert Enforcement Unit arrested 33-year-old Anthony Joseph Mendez at
a home in the 1400-block of Indiana
Avenue in Elkhart.
During a search, police say they found over 120 pounds of marijuana, 6 guns
and more than $23,000 in cash.
Mendez is being held at the Elkhart County Jail on charges of being a Serious
Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of more than 10 pounds
of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver.
The Prosecutor's Office says the arrest
is part of an ongoing investigation and additional arrests are expected.
