Police say a teen, killed on his
graduation day, was drunk when he crashed into a tanker truck.
18-year-old James Reeder died early
on the morning of Sunday, June 3 when his pickup collided head-on with the
tanker on State Road 23 in Granger.
The Saint Joseph County Sheriff's
Department says Reeder's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal
limit. They're not releasing the exact number, citing the ongoing
investigation. Toxicology results also showed he had
marijuana in his system.
The driver of the tanker truck was
also tested. Police say his results appeared to be normal with no indication of
alcohol or other intoxicants.
Reeder
was supposed to graduate from high school in Lawrence, Michigan
on the day of his accident.
