Golfing on Father's Day is a tradition for many families in Michiana, but for the Shelton family, a round of golf is really a celebration of life.
Ethan Shelton is 108 years old and year-after-year he hits the links at Indian Lake Hills and it never ceases to amaze me.
"I like to play golf, I just love it," 108 year old Ethan Shelton says. "I just wish I was better at it."
Every year on Father's Day, this 108 year old plays a round of golf with his family.
Ethan will be 109 on July 10th, but the aches and pains of life don't get in his way.
Now... Ethan, the owner of Shelton's Farm Market, is a bit of a local celebrity, he is a blue-grass musician and an avid gardner but what never gets old is watching him on the golf course.
As much as Ethan loves being on the course, his family loves it even more.
"I get goose bumps, to think he'll be 109 years old in a month and he still hits it down the middle is incredible," Joe Shelton, his son, said. "To spend this time with him is just amazing."
Ethan says, "Someone's been good to me, upstairs."
