A busy Mishawaka intersection, just got busier.
It's down to one lane each direction at the corner of Grape Road and Douglas.
Traffic was pretty backed up during rush hour.
In addition to reduced lanes, right and left hand turns are also restricted, depending on which direction you're going.
That means folks have to take a lap around the block to get to where they wanna go.
"I've lived on Douglas road for years and this stretch of Douglas and Grape has been dug up three, four times. It's an inconvenience, but they're doing what they have to do, I guess," says a Mishawaka driver caught in traffic.
Businesses in the area are also concerned about what the construction means for sales.
It's tough to get in and out of parking lots.
We spoke with Batteries Plus.
The manager, Cory Mabee, says it will definitely take a toll, but he's just trying to stay positive.
"It's definitely gonna take a toll I think it can definitely deter everything as far as the customers getting in and out," says Mabee.
Construction will take about three weeks as crews work to relocate gas lines.
