The intersection at LaSalle Ave & Niles Blvd will be closed for the next several weeks due to construction.
The following ALERT has been issued about the construction:
Crews are working on the second phase of construction on the project. The latest phase covers the area from the Madison-Niles intersection Southward down Niles across the intersection at LaSalle and ends roughly mid-block between LaSalle and Colfax.
This phase is planned to last from June 1st until around July 6th.
Right now, a portion of the roadway has been completely removed between Madison and LaSalle to accommodated the installation of a dedicated storm sewer running down the East side of Niles Ave. The sewer has been installed all the way to just North of the LaSalle Niles intersection. Beginning on Monday, June 18, the LaSalle / Niles intersection will be closed to remove pavement and structures and install the dedicated storm sewer through the intersection. The intersection and Colfax and the intersection at Jefferson crossing Niles must remain open while the intersection at LaSalle is closed.
