If you've noticed more police out on the roads, get used to it. Police stations all over St. Joseph County are taking part in a Dangerous Driving Enforcement Grant.
The grant means police can work overtime, in an effort to prevent speeding, red light violations, motorcycles and texting while driving. The money will support overtime through August 16.
So what is it that police worry about the most? "Texting while driving is probably one of the ones that concerns me the most because it's just as dangerous at drunk driving." said Tim Williams with the Mishawaka Police
The grant is a Fatal Crash Reduction Grant funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.
