It looks like new ownership and new investments are paying off big time at the Cove. The South Bend Silver Hawks are half way through their season, and the team reports attendance has nearly doubled since this time last year.
They've actually sold out two games already this season. "I hear a lot of comments and feedback from people. The ballpark has just got a different vibe, and people are really coming out and having a good time," says Silver Hawks President Joe HArt.
If you head out to a game, you'll definitely see the improvements. From a new splash pad and bounce-houses to new food and bigger giveaways, they've tried to make it a more family friendly experience.
In 2011 attendance for the first 35 games totaled 40,855. For the first half of the 2012 season, attendance reached 78,938, including sellouts on June 8 and 15.
