Police are still trying to identify a man is killed after he was hit by a
truck Friday morning in Michigan City.
Around 8:00 a.m., Michigan City Police say the man stepped off the curb and
into the path of the truck on Ohio
Street near U.S. 20. The man, who police say is a
white male about 60-70 years old, died of what appeared to be massive internal
injuries. Michigan City Police and the LaPorte County Coroner's Office are
still attempting to identify the victim.
The drive of the semi was not hurt.
Eastbound lanes of U.S.
were closed for about 2 hours for clean-up and investigation. They are now open.
