There's plenty to do this weekend around Michiana. In Mishawaka, it's Summerfest time.
Food vendors, craft booths, and family games have filled Merrifield Park. Some of the features this year include a rock wall, euro bungee, live music from regional bands.
On Saturday, the Mishawaka Lions Club will sponsor an "all you can eat" pancake breakfast at 7:00 a.m. under the Hospitality Tent on the south side of the park, and pre-registration will begin at 7:30 for the returning 5 on 5 basketball tournament in Crawford Park. At 8:00 a.m., the basketball tournament begins and the Summerfest 5Krun and timed walk will begin at Mishawaka High School and end in the park at Niles Avenue.
It all wraps up Saturday night with a free open concert featuring Shawn Mullins starting at 6:00pm with Alligator Blackbird warming up the audience.
