Domestic violence was the topic of discussion at a Y-W-C-A's town hall meeting in South Bend tonight.
The meeting focused on the results of a CourtWatch project.
The project monitored over 750 domestic violence hearings in St. Joseph County.
The hearings were all recorded and now those recordings are being use to help the courts improve services.
We take this responsibility very seriously so that's one of the reasons we askew the "Y" to come in and perform this function so we can determine if we're doing the job we ought to be performing," said St. Joseph County Circuit Court Judge Michael Gotsch. "We have some room for improvement."
The ultimate goal of the project is to set up a one-stop shop for victims where they can get all the court information they need in one place.
