Elkhart museum open as a cooling station

The New York Central Railroad Museum in Elkhart will be open as a cooling center for those who need to get out of the heat.

Residents who are using the cooling center will find lighted and cooling observation railroad cars where they can watch trains through downtown Elkhart. The museum is located at 721 S. Main St., just south of the Main Street railroad crossing.
