People in South Bend who want to be firefighters can learn more about how to accomplish that goal Thursday. WorkOne will be holding a recruitment event at their office at 851 South Marietta Street for the South Bend Fire Department.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Firefighters will be on hand to talk with potential candidates about job openings and answer any questions they may have.
There are certain requirements for all candidates interested. They must be between 21 and 35-years-old at the time the fire department swears in new members. They must be a U.S. Citizen and have either a high school diploma or their GED certificate.
They must also have a valid and current driver's license and a record free of felonies.
