UPDATE: "Person of interest" detained in Cass County stabbing

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says a "person of interest" is in custody in what they're calling a possible homicide.

Police got a call Friday afternoon about a stabbing in the 19000 block of U.S. 12, east of Five Points Road in Mason Township. When they arrived, they found a woman fatally stabbed in a home.

Edward J. Hensley is facing open murder charges in the stabbing death of his sister, Martha Sexton.

Police say Hensley had been living with Sexton where the stabbing happened for the past ten days.

Police were searching for Hensely for several hours following the stabbing.

He was found in Elkhart and arrested by Elkhart police Friday evening.
