One of South Bend's first synagogues is getting a new lease on life.
The 111-year-old building is now the team store for the Silverhawks.
Team owner, Andrew Berlin, says the abandoned building is perfect for the team since it is right next to the stadium.
Berlin says, "Being adjacent to the ballpark and having survived three different ballparks over 100 years it seemed natural to pull it within the ballpark and make it part of the complex."
Berlin also says the building's chandelier is a symbol of a new light shining in the city of South Bend.
The team spent five figures to bring the chandelier back to life.
During the off-season the building will be available for dinners and other events.
