Much of the Michiana remains under drought conditions, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor report.
The report shows all of Michiana is at least Abnormally Dry. Parts of Elkhart, Marshall, LaGrange and Fulton Counties and all of Kosciusko County are classified as Drought – Extreme, the second highest level.
At the state level, all of Indiana is classified as being at least Abnormally Dry. 89% of Indiana is classified as being at least Drought – Moderate, 68% is classified as being at least Drought-Severe, 23% is Drought – Extreme.
48% of Michigan is classified as being at least Abnormally Dry, including all of Berrien, Cass and St. Joseph Counties. 8% is classified as Drought – Moderate, including parts of Cass and St. Joseph Counties.
