Indiana
Conservation Officers say a 11-year-old New Paris girl was hurt in an accident
on Dewart Lake in Kosciusko County Thursday.
Officers
say Morgan Rodman was tubing when the tube was hit by a jet ski driven by a 10-year-old
boy, throwing Rodman into the water. Officers say the 10-year-old was not paying
attention and was going too fast to stop before hitting the tube.
Rodman
was treated at the scene for a bruised shoulder.
Officers
say the grandmother of the 10-year-old was cited for Permitting Unlawful Operation.
The
DNR says you must have either a driver's license or be at least 15 and have completed
a boater education course to operate a boat with more than 10 horsepower in Indiana. State law allows
officers to cite the owner or possessor of a watercraft with Permitting Unlawful Operation
if they allow a violation to occur.
