South Bend ties Thursday’s record high

Posted:

The National Weather Service says the 100 degree mark South Bend hit Thursday tied a 101 year old record.

The National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana says we also hit 100 degrees on July 5, 1911.

South Bend set a record high on Wednesday, July 4, when we hit 100. The previous July 5 record was 99 degrees in 1921.

FOX28 Chief Meteorologist John Fischer expects South Bend will also hit at least 100 degrees on Friday, which would tie records set in 1988 and 1911. Catch his complete forecast, including the 5 Degree Guarantee high, tonight on FOX28 News at 10.
