Temps surpassed the century mark again Friday, 104 degrees in Goshen and 102 in South Bend.
But plenty of people still ventured out of the air conditioning for this month's First Fridays events.
"It's summer and we gotta deal with it and this is what we deal with. When it's winter we pray that it's hot, when it's hot we pray that it's cool," says Joe Bernabe who was enjoying the First Fridays celebration in Goshen.
Bernabe wasn't staying at home in the AC, but he knows these high temps can be dangerous too, so he armed himself with plenty of water and a spray bottle to keep him cool.
"To sit inside our house in the coolness which would be nice, but we're kinda missing out on the events if we don't come out and support the local events that are going on so we're just out here to have some fun," says Bernabe.
In Goshen, July's First Friday is particularly popular, so organizers wanted to make sure people could still have fun, as temperatures climbed above 100 degrees.
Misting tents were set up for people to cool off under and bottled water was passed out.
Over in South Bend, The weather didn't scare the "hot" rods away.
Classic car owners were making sure their coupes were also staying cool at the city's First Fridays event.
In fact the First Friday's event seemed to achieve its goal.
"It gives people down here, participating more, seeing what's happening downtown here. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be down here tonight." says Jon Wiese who brought his classic car for the show.
