The extreme heat we're experiencing is causing some streets to buckle. Bristol Street at Bay Street in Elkhart, just northeast of downtown, buckled Friday.
While we were there a police officer was at the scene trying to slow down traffic.
He said two hours before, the buckle wasn't there.
We're not the only ones dealing with buckling roads. Several roads in Chicagoland are damaged as well.
On Thursday, part of Columbus Drive looked like a virtual ramp.
No one was hurt by the road buckling, but crews closed down part of the street to fix the problem. It will stay shut down during the Taste of Chicago which begins next Wednesday.
