One place where people are trying to beat the heat? The Kroc Center in South Bend.
They have been selling double the number of day passes they usually sell.
Friday, Salvation Army officials say they more than doubled the normal number with more than 100 day passes.
People are coming in to use the pool and play basketball indoors where it's a lot more comfortable.
"You know we didn't really know what to expect from day to day because it is our first July that we've been open," says Meg Sauer with the Kroc Center. "But the weather does seem to impact things whether it's real cold or real hot so we'll just see. But it's nice to see people in here taking advantage of the cool."
Incidentally, they just lowered the rates for a day pass.
Adults are $7.50, kids under the age of 17 are $5.50.
And it's $34.50 for a family of 5.
