Two men use CPR to save woman on Cass County lake

Posted:

Two neighbors helped save a South Bend woman from Indian Lake in Cass County on Saturday.

The Cass County Sheriff's Department says 20-year-old Patrice Carter was playing with the family dog in about two feet of water when her family says she disappeared. Family members found her underwater, not breathing.

Two men, Tavis Graham of Dowagiac and Nick Nakatsuka of Hammond, heard the family's calls for help. Police say they were able to get Carter to shore and use CPR to get her breathing again.

Patrice was taken to a Niles hospital.
