South Bend firefighters are trying to figure out what started an early morning fire at factory.
It happened just before 4:00 Wednesday at 220 West Ewing Avenue. Crews say a fan on top of a refrigeration unit caught on fire.
Two employees who were at work early called 9-1-1 when they noticed the smoke. They were the only ones in the building at the time, so no one was injured.
Once firefighters made it to the scene they were able to put out the blaze fairly quickly. Crews did stay on the scene until maintenance workers could show up.
