Part of Washington Street closed Friday

The eastbound lanes of Washington Street in South Bend will be closed on Friday between Lafayette Boulevard and Main Street.

Starting early in the morning crews will be installing an air conditioning unit on a tall building. They say they need the eastbound lane to park equipment.

The restriction won't affect drivers for very long. Crews expect to finish up by noon.
