Farmers say we haven't seen conditions this bad since the drought of 1988. We profiled Elkhart Farmer Gary Eby and his family back in April of 1988. His fields were dry, and the weather was threatening to plow him under. But he survived, and he says farmers today will pull through this time as well.
"It was the worst I ever had," Eby says as he remembers 1988. "This year is probably the same or worse."
We revisited Eby's farm this week, and will have a full report on The Drought: Then and Now, Tuesday on FOX 28 News at 10.
