South Bend's biggest beach party is almost here. Volunteers got together Thursday to clean up the riverfront on Colfax Avenue.
They cleared an area so they'll be ready for the sand to be dropped off for to create the beach.
"You should expect to see a beach party," says Garret Gingerich. "You can come out here, wear your Hawaiian shirts, flip flops and bring your lawn chairs. We're going to have Jimmy Buffett themed music."
The beach party is August 3rd and 4th. It benefits the Center for the Homeless. FOX 28 is a proud sponsor of the event.
