Thousands of dollars in drugs and cash seized in Niles

A sting operation in Niles leads to one arrest and the seizure of thousands of dollars in drugs and cash.

Nile police say an undercover team purchased crack cocaine from Cordeleus Martin of Niles on Wednesday. Shortly after the purchase, Martin was arrested on a delivery of crack cocaine charge.

The investigation led to a home on the 500 block of Howard St. A K-9 Team searched the home and found about 3 ounces of crack, other drug trafficking evidence and about $1,200 in cash. According to police, the crack cocaine has a street value of over $3,700.
