A major movie theatre chain is banning masks and fake weapons in the wake of Friday's shooting at an Aurora, Colorado movie.
In a release, posted on their blog, AMC Theatres says it will not allow any guests into theatres in costumes "that make other guests feel uncomfortable" or permit "face-covering masks or fake weapons" in their theatres.
AMC, which owns AMC Showplace 16 in South Bend and AMC Showplace 14 in Michigan City, says they're also reinforcing security procedures with employees, though they won't discuss details for safety reasons.
AMC says show schedules will not change. They say if customers wish to exchange or refund tickets, they'll honor their existing policy and "do as our guests wish."
