The mass shooting at a Colorado movie theatre begs the question: "Could something like that happen in Michiana?"
Michiana residents are reacting.
"I think it's horrible that someone could just go into a movie theatre and kill all those people," says thirteen year-old Jeremy Jacobs.
Jacobs says what happened in Colorado changed what he thinks about going to the movies with his friends from now on.
"It makes me scared," says Jacobs.
He's not alone, some say the shock of it all makes them think twice about heading to the theatre.
Especially those who considered going to the midnight showing of Dark Knight.
"Well we talked about it. We did. Out in Plymouth. So now it kinda makes you just a little leery," says Nathan Henderson of South Bend.
"It made me feel a little insecure in thinking perhaps to consider watching a movie at home with friends instead of actually going to theatres," says Lisa Favela of Berrien Springs.
Others say, unfortunately similar things have happened in recent memory.
But you can't be afraid to do the regular things we do all the time.
"You gotta live. You can get struck by lightning at any time, so you gotta live your life. Things like that are really rare, we just hear about them a lot more often but I think they're happening more these days just because people are really stressed out," says Alex Markovich.
But some add, it wouldn't be a bad idea for movie theaters to beef up security at least a little.
"I think it would help to some extent, but I don't know that it would completely control it," says Favela.
