An overnight police chase that started in La Porte and ended in Elkhart sent two people to the hospital Tuesday morning.
Elkhart Police say around 1:25 a.m., an officer tried to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of Cassopolis Street and Bristol Street. Police say the driver didn't stop and led officers on a short chase.
Police say the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole and house in the area of Plum and Beardsley.
The driver, Brian Gates, and an unnamed woman were taken to the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries. Police say the vehicle they were in was reported stolen in La Porte.
Someone was in the home at the time of the crash, but they were not hurt.
