The hot, humid, rainy week has not stopped fair goers.
The Elkhart County Fair's attendance numbers are up this year despite the weather.
In fact the weather may be helping.
"We've actually seen people walking out into the rain and smiling. So it's been more of gratitude rather than hindrance or a negative to the fair this year," said President of Elkhart Co. Fair Board Jack Lengecher.
Attendance is tracked by gate admission.
Last year about two hundred and fifty thousand came through the gate.
As of Wednesday, attendance numbers are 700 people ahead of last year.
