It's a project that has been going on for months, but it's one that's becoming much more visible.
They started the actual demolition of homes for the Five Points project in South Bend.
This is the unofficial start, if you will, because people are only now starting to notice the progress.
You'll start seeing more of the actual road work early next year.
They're putting in a 4 way stop with a traffic signal and it's a project many think has been a long time coming.
Matt Deitchley from INDOT says, "Ultimately, it's gonna mean a lot of big changes. State Road 23 is gonna actually cut across where we're standing right here. It's gonna cut right here and connect on the other side. Corby is gonna realign over there with Howard. So they are gonna be some significant changes. But ultimately, the end result will be a 4-way stop instead of the 5 points confusion a lot of people have."
They hope to complete the project by October 2014.
