A former Michigan bank president was sentenced Friday to 2 years in an Indiana prison for Sexual Battery.

45-year-old William C. Peterson was accused in 2008 of fondling a 6-year-old girl while she was sleeping.

As part of a plea deal with Saint Joseph County, Indiana prosecutors, Peterson pleaded guilty in May 2011 to felony Sexual Battery and misdemeanor Battery. The deal, which could have cleared him of the felony charge, would have delayed sentencing for 3 years, provided Peterson met the terms and conditions the court laid out.

In March of this year, the Probation Department issued a report to the court saying Peterson was in violation of the terms and conditions.
