A man is dead after a mud bog accident at the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds.
Police say it happened last night during the Summer Thunder Mud Bog.
Kenneth Jackson was at the camping grounds right outside of the track.
"He started running through the pit, through the mud and it looked like he never let off the gas," said Kenneth Jackson. "I don't know if the throttle stuck or what happened but when he finally got off the gas, he was less than 50 feet from the fence and concrete barriers."
Jackson said the drivers were competing to see who could travel 100 feet the fastest and then they had 300 feet to slow down.
The driver of the wrecked vehicle was the first competitor of the night.
