A
41-year-old woman from Dowagiac was arrested after police say she was involved
in a hit-and-run crash that sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital.
The
crash happened at M 51 and M 152 north of Dowagiac shortly before 11:00 p.m. Wednesday
evening.
The
Cass County Sheriff's Department says an SUV heading north crossed the center
line, hitting a motorcycle head-on. The rider of the motorcycle, 21-year-old
Zachary Cox of Dowagiac, was hurt and taken to the hospital. Police say he was
wearing a helmet.
Cass
County Detectives say they arrested a 41-year-old woman from Dowagiac in Van
Buren County. The woman, who police have not named, faces charges of OWI,
leaving the scene of a personal injury crash and driving with a suspended
license. Police say alcohol does appear to be a factor in the crash.
