Indiana Family and Social Services Administration sent a cease and desist letter, today, to the daycare where a one-year-old girl nearly drowned. Police say the girl, 22-month-old Skylar Bullocks, was found unresponsive in the backyard pool of an in-home daycare in Osceola on Thursday.
The letter was not caused directly by the drowning incident. Officers called FSSA to the scene when they saw the number of children in the home.
According to FSSA, the daycare was "not operating in compliance with Indiana state law." Indiana state law allows Indiana residents to care for five or fewer non-related children. If you have six or more, you have to be licensed by the state.
FSSA says the operator has two options. She can reduce the number of children cared for in the home, or apply for a license.
