Former South Bend Tribune sports editor and long time journalist, Joe Doyle, is covering his 64th season of Notre Dame football.
At 91 years old, Doyle has just about seen it all. He went to school with Heisman trophy winner Leon Hart and says at times he was the only reporter at coach Frank Leahy's press conferences.
He admits, Ara Parseghian was his favorite coach to cover but says he has high expectations for Kelly's squad this season.
Doyle says if Notre Dame wins all twelve games against the likes of Oklahoma, USC, Miami, Stanford, etc... then they'll deserve the National Championship because "that's a hell of a 12-and-0 team."
