Saturday's storm spoiled some of the fun for the On The River Beach bash in South Bend.
Beach-goers were evacuated to the nearby Commerce Center until the storm passed.
The event is a fundraiser for the Center for the Homeless.
While organizers don't have final numbers in for money raised, they don't believe the hiccup in the celebration impacted donations too badly.
"Certainly the weather did hurt us a little in terms of what we'll be able to donate to the Center for the Homeless, but we'll still be able to write a pretty sizeable check," says organizer, Aaron Perri.
Organizers say part of the reason they can still write a nice check is because of record-breaking attendance at Friday's teen night.
About a thousand beach-goers braved the weather and partied Saturday night.
