Convicted sex offender found dead in Elkhart

Elkhart Police are investigating the death of a convicted sex offended. Police were called to the home of 69-year-old Tyrannosaurus Rex Mullens (born James E Grant) late Saturday morning. Mullens' home is on the 1700 block of Morton Ave.

Mullens was convicted in 1996 on two counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. He was released from prison in 2004.

Mullens death remains under investigation pending an autopsy.
