South Bend is about to get a big economic boost thanks to all the golfers swinging into town!
Blackthorn Golf Club is set to host the 2012 Symetra Tour.... "The Road to the LPGA."
The Four Winds Invitational starts this Friday.
To celebrate the invitational Michigan Street Downtown has been re-named "Four Winds Invitational Drive!"
"This is a great way to celebrate what I believe is a very strong commitment of the Four Winds Casinos to the citizens of Indiana and South Bend," said Four Winds Matt Harkness.
"The golfers will stay with families throughout the community and it's a real way for them to get to know the community," said South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg. "But also just to make hopefully more young women and girls aware that pro-golfing has a place for them."
Again the Four Winds Invitational starts Friday and runs through Sunday at Blackthorn.
