Elkhart County crews have put out a fire at a home in Baugo Township.
It happened around 4:00 Tuesday morning on the 57000 block of County Road 100. Dispatchers tell FOX 28 it started on a stove the kitchen, firefighters say they were able to keep it contained to a small area.
"Fire looks to be contained to the kitchen area and entryway," said Baugo Township's Assistant Chief Brian Gonzales. "There's plenty of smoke and heat damage throughout."
There was only one woman home when it happened. She made it out safely and ran to a neighbor's home to call 9-1-1.
