Elkhart burglary suspect arrested

A suspect is in custody after police say he broke into a grocery store and tried to run from police. Elkhart police say an officer was patrolling near Benham Ave and Indiana Ave around 2:45am on Thursday when she heard an alarm.

She found a burglar at the Sunnyside Food Mart. The burglar fled on foot. Police found a suspect a short time later. The suspect, 22-year-old Bryan Johnson of Elkhart, is facing a Burglary charge and a misdemeanor Resisting Law Enforcement charge.
