An effort to get rid of a violent gang... is paying off.
Prosecutors say known gang-member Kevin Burrell was sentenced today to 111-years in prison.
He was convicted in July of two counts of attempted murder.
The Prosecutor's office honored several investigators who worked to tie dozens of crimes to a gang called the "Cash Out Boyz."
Five detectives spent countless hours with many of them working the case off the clock.
"Today was pure and simply a way that our office can thank the hard work and dedication of the detectives who decided that enough was enough when it comes to these individuals who were committing these violent crimes," said Chief Deputy Prosecutor Ken Cotter.
SBPD Investigator Jennifer Gobel said,"We all worked together to achieve a common goal... which was to put the bad guys in jail."
The investigation into the Cash Out Boyz lasted an entire year.
