Verizon Wireless and the State of Indiana have launched a program to help victims of domestic violence.
It's called the Hope Card.
It has a picture and information about a victim's abuser on it so that police can take action against someone who violates a protective order.
Right now, victims have to carry around their protective orders, which can be a burden.
Michelle Bumgarner of the Attorney General's office says, "Many domestic violence survivors have to leave from one place to another with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. You're not thinking about grabbing a ten page stack of paper. You want something you can slip in your pocket. This card does that."
The 30 thousand dollar grant from Verizon was collected from old phones customers donated to be refurbished.
