You're buying school supplies, getting the kids vaccinated, and much more. But another thing you may want to take care of before the kids hit the books is getting them fingerprinted and photographed, just in case of an emergency.
Saturday, parents could bring their children to Mishawaka's Goodwill store to get all of this done for free. Families walked away with a digital picture and thumbprints card with safety tips. Debie Coble, Vice President of Goodwill's Workforce Development Services said, "we live in a community that while it's safe we hear horror stories all too often of things happening to children that you never want to dream of happening. So by having the picture and fingerprints it's a heads up for the police should something horrible happen."
Kids also got a free stuffed animal and those who brought in donations to the Goodwill Store got an extra toy to take home.
