Many students in Michiana are already back to school, or getting ready to start classes soon.
Students at Notre Dame are heading back to campus after summer break and businesses on Eddy Street are welcoming them.
Several Students and their parents were walking around Eddy Street Saturday and grabbing something to eat. O'Rourkes and Hot Box Pizza said they've been packed the past couple days but that's exactly what they want. The General Manager at O'Rourkes, Shelly Freitag, said, "It's great to have the students back. WE have a good business throughout the year but we definitely see an increase when the students are here and the atmosphere seems to be more alive when they're in town." While Pie Maker at Hot Box Pizza, Nick Mazak said, "we're pretty excited for Notre Dame students to come back cause over summer it's pretty chill kinda quiet around here but when the students come back especially move in day like yesterday we get really busy."
O'Rourkes said they've even increased staff to handle the rush of customers now that students are back and they are starting to promote all their activities geared toward the students.
